Every One a Winner is a collection of true stories about athletes from the past and present, including Olympian Eric Liddell, cricketer Henry Olonga, sports presenter Dan Walker, and rugby international Euan Murray.

All the contributors, each with a varying level of fame, have at some time been involved in sports as diverse as pool, football, fencing, tennis and hockey. Each one however, has found something that means more to them than the sport—a meaning and a purpose that goes beyond the track or the field.

This book will be an engaging and challenging read for anyone interested in sports and the athletes who bring fame to the game.

Encouraging read!

If you love stories about athletes and conversion stories, you should definitely read Every One a Winner. Each chapter shares the testimony of an athlete whose life was changed by their relationship with Jesus. It can be read straight through but I would recommend a chapter a week, as the stories do sometimes become repetitive and this would allow for a weekly encouragement. Most of the athletes featured are from the UK, so I was only familiar with one or two of these names. That was fine though, because their stories were all so meaningful and encouraging. Though each story is different, each athlete experienced a radical change when they gave their lives to Jesus. I loved reading about their training and experiences with sports, but mostly loved seeing the power of the gospel to heal, restore, and rebuild. Thank you so much to @10ofthoseusa for this gifted copy! All opinions expressed are my own. Christian Nonfiction for adults or older teens. No language. One instance of rape is recalled, not descriptive. Alcohol, drugs, and mentions of sexual immorality.
